Op de a-2 reed een vrachtwagen achterop een legertruck afkomstig uit de kazerne in Weert. Er zijn 5 zwaar gewonden militairen. Er raakten 3 personen auto’s bij het ongeval betrokken en in totaal raakten 16 personen gewond. Korperaal Christiaan Kakisina (35) kwam om het leven.
Het betrof hier een viertonner van het opleidingscentrum KMS te Weert. Op het terrein van de Horne Kazerne is een crises centrum ingericht.
In ieder geval kunnen ongeacht de aansprakelijkheid alle inzittenden van de viertonner dekking krijgen op de verzekering van de vier tonner. Defensie zal deze wel collectief hebben verzekerd en de inzittenden zijn automatisch verzekerd middels de schuldloze derdenregeling.
Een grote tragedie voor alle betrokkenen.
